The Seasons of the School Year

Everyone in education knows the new year begins in mid-August or early September, not on January 1st. The rhythm of the school year is tidal, impacted by new moons and full moons, weather, holidays, vacations, children’s birthdays, PTO meetings, school board meetings, and, oh yes, curriculum, pacing charts, and assessment.
