Are You Ready?

It’s Tuesday, right? You’ll be fixing breakfast and your eight year old will be screaming in the bathroom at the top of her lungs and telling you to come quick! You tell her to hold her horses, you’ll be there as soon as you flip the eggs and she’s screaming she can’t wait, C A N N O T
W A I T  O NE  M  O  R  E   M  I  N  U  T  E ! so you move the pan off the burner and run down the hall….

It’s Tuesday, right? The bell has rung and you’re waiting for you’re second graders to come in and hang up their back packs and sign in for another wonderful day but none of your students are at the door. You go around the corner to the office and ask the secretary, “DO YOU HAPPEN TO HAVE ANY IDEA WHERE MY CLASS IS???”  She says with a wink, “Have you checked your classroom?” Feeling a little foolish and beginning to remember what day it is you sneak back down the hall… and open the door…

APRIL FOOLS!!

Thank goodness for the still available lightly-enjoined humor of childhood on a day like this even when it gets a little old repeated over and over… ok, ok , April Fool, I know, with a smile… I feel a wee bit sad we will be giving standardized state tests this April Fools Day and that’s no joke.
